Oakheart SMP is a community-focused survival server. These rules exist to ensure everyone has a positive experience.

Core Values#

  • Community First — Support fellow players and build connections
  • Fair Play — No cheating, exploiting, or unfair advantages
  • Respect — Treat everyone with kindness and consideration
  • Creativity — Build, trade, and create unique experiences

Quick Rules#

New to Oakheart? Here's the essential version:

  1. Be respectful — No harassment, hate speech, slurs, or bullying
  2. No cheating — X-ray, hacking, and duping will get you banned
  3. No griefing — Don't steal or destroy others' builds
  4. Claim your builds — Use /lands create and /lands claim
  5. Trade safely — Use /trade <player> for secure exchanges
  6. PvP is opt-in — Use /pvp to enable consensual combat
  7. Report issues — Open a ticket on Discord

1. Respect & Behavior#

Do#

  • Be kind and respectful to all players
  • Use appropriate language in public chat
  • Help new players learn the server
  • Report rule violations to staff
  • Keep disputes civil and private

Don't#

  • Use slurs, hate speech, or discriminatory language
  • Harass, bully, or target other players
  • Spam chat or commands
  • Advertise other servers
  • Share personal information (yours or others')
  • Bypass chat filters or evade mutes

Consequences#

Warnings first, then escalating mutes depending on severity.

2. Griefing & Theft#

All claimed land is protected. Griefing unclaimed builds is still against the rules.

Do#

  • Respect all claimed territory
  • Ask permission before building near others (64+ blocks)
  • Report griefing immediately via Discord ticket
  • Claim your builds to protect them

Don't#

  • Grief, destroy, or modify others' builds
  • Steal from chests, containers, or item frames
  • Kill or harm other players' pets/animals
  • Loot abandoned builds without staff permission
  • Build offensive or inappropriate structures
  • Use lava/water to grief around claims

Consequences#

Rollback of damage plus a ban. Length depends on severity and repeat offenses.

3. Cheating & Exploits#

Do#

  • Play fairly using vanilla mechanics
  • Report bugs and exploits to staff immediately
  • Use approved client-side mods (see list below)

Don't#

  • Use hacked clients, X-ray, or cheat mods
  • Exploit bugs or glitches for advantage
  • Dupe items or currency
  • Use alternate accounts to bypass limits
  • Abuse mechanics for unintended advantages
  • Use macros/autoclickers for AFK farming

Approved Client Mods#

  • Performance: Optifine, Sodium, Lithium
  • Visual: Shaders, custom textures
  • Building: Litematica (schematic viewer only, NO printer)
  • Maps: Minimap mods (NO entity radar, NO cave mapping)
  • Utility: Inventory sorting, Simple Voice Chat
  • Other QoL mods — When in doubt, ask staff first

Cheating Will Get You Banned Ban length depends on the offense. Duping is an immediate permanent ban.

4. Economy & Trading#

Do#

  • Trade fairly and honor agreements
  • Use /trade <player> for safe trades
  • Respect shop prices and stock limits
  • Report scams or unfair trades

Don't#

  • Scam or mislead other players
  • Exploit shop stock limits or cooldowns
  • Attempt to manipulate the economy
  • Create "emerald generators" or exploit villagers
  • Trade real money for in-game items (except official store)

Spawn Shop Limits#

Each shop has per-player daily limits. These reset automatically. Don't attempt to bypass them with alt accounts.

Consequences#

Warning → Trade restrictions → Temp ban → Economy reset + Permanent ban

5. Claims & Land Use#

Do#

  • Claim all builds you want protected
  • Leave 64+ blocks distance from other players' claims
  • Contact staff for land disputes

Don't#

  • Build offensive structures (hate symbols, NSFW, etc.)
  • Build structures to harass or target players
  • Claim around others to box them in
  • Bypass claim protections with exploits

Inactive Claims#

Claims inactive for 90+ days may be removed by staff. We'll attempt to contact you first.

6. Player Shops & Warps#

Do#

  • Create legitimate shops with fair prices
  • Use clear warp names and categories
  • Keep shop areas accessible
  • Update stock regularly

Don't#

  • Create fake/scam shops
  • Use warps to trap or kill players
  • Set warps to inappropriate locations
  • Create misleading warp names

Shop Limits#

Based on vote/store rank. Higher ranks = more shops allowed.

7. Chat & Communication#

Do#

  • Keep chat friendly and welcoming
  • Use English in public chat (other languages in /msg)
  • Use /msg <player> for private conversations

Don't#

  • Spam chat or commands
  • USE EXCESSIVE CAPS OR FORMATTING
  • Discuss controversial topics (politics, religion)
  • Share links without permission
  • Bypass chat filters

Chat Features#

  • Link items in chat with [item]
  • Discord chat syncs with in-game chat

Consequences#

Warning → Mute (increasing duration) → Temp ban

8. Redstone & Server Performance#

Do#

  • Build efficient redstone contraptions
  • Turn off farms when not in use
  • Report lag sources to staff

Don't#

  • Build lag machines intentionally
  • Create massive entity farms
  • Use excessive hoppers or redstone clocks
  • Build auto-clickers or macro farms

Consequences#

Warning → Farm removal → Temp ban (if intentional)

9. PvP & Combat#

PvP is disabled by default. Both players must opt-in.

Do#

  • Only PvP with consenting players (both use /pvp)
  • Return items after friendly fights (if agreed)
  • Keep PvP in appropriate areas

Don't#

  • Kill players without consent
  • Trap players in PvP zones
  • Use PvP to harass or grief
  • Abuse PvP toggle mechanics

Consequences#

Warning → Temp ban → Permanent ban

Punishment System#

Warning System#

Most first offenses result in a logged warning.

Mute Durations#

Mutes start short and get longer with repeat offenses. Staff choose the length based on what happened and how many times it has happened before.

Ban Durations#

  • Minor (chat spam, accidental grief): 1-3 days
  • Moderate (theft, intentional grief, scamming): 7-30 days
  • Major (hacking, duping, severe harassment): Longer bans up to permanent

Appeals#

  • All punishments can be appealed on Discord
  • Players who cooperate may receive reduced punishments
  • Staff will review evidence before decisions

Staff & Moderation#

How to Contact Staff#

  • Discord: Open a support ticket
  • In-game: Report in chat if urgent

What Staff CAN Do#

  • View chat logs
  • Inspect block changes
  • Restore inventories
  • Issue bans/mutes
  • Teleport to investigate

What Staff CANNOT Do#

  • Give free items or currency
  • Bypass economy systems for players
  • Share confidential player information
  • Abuse permissions for personal gain

Staff are held to higher standards and can be demoted for rule violations.

Don't#

  • Use VPNs to vote multiple times
  • Use alternate accounts to vote for the same player
  • Exploit voting systems

Vote rewards removed + Temp ban

  • Crate keys
  • Cosmetics
  • Claim Chunks

Important Notes#

  • Chargebacks result in permanent ban
  • Contact staff for refunds/issues before disputing
  • Real money trading outside official store is prohibited

Rule Changes#

These rules may be updated as the server grows. Major changes will be announced on Discord.
